I am a multi-faceted creative with experience in costume design, garment construction, draping, pattern drafting, and historical research. I began my artistic journey as a small child in my grandmother’s sewing room before going on to work as a Dresser and Stitcher at Opera Santa Barbara as a teenager, then as Stitcher and later First Hand at Portland Opera. In addition to my technical roles, I have designed productions for Theatre Inconnu, St. Luke’s Players, Portland Playhouse, Santa Barbara Revels, and Santa Barbara City College.
In 2014, I went from the green room to the classroom. I earned an MA in Geography (social science) from the University of Georgia in 2016 and a PhD in Geography (social science) from The Ohio State University in 2021.
For the last 2 years I served as Department Head in Fashion Design at Pacific Design Academy and Sewing Program Lead at The InterCultural Association of Greater Victoria. In September I’m looking forward to joining the Pacific Opera Victoria team as Senior Cutter in the costume shop.
